Real Results: My Positive Experience with Hudson House’s Virtual Office Services

In this article, Kay Blaikie, founder of Quill Legal and long term client of Hudson House explains the Benefits of our Virtual Office Address Service in Edinburgh.

Last month I welcomed my one thousandth client to Quill Legal. Time for reflection on the last seven years and to consider how I have achieved modest success operating as a sole practitioner, starting off with nothing but a laptop, a lot of experience and enthusiasm and a new website. Key to my firm’s development has been the solid base provided by my virtual office at Hudson House in Albany Street Edinburgh.

Quill Legal was set up to carry out private client work, principally executries, drawing up Wills and Powers of Attorney and engaging in a wide variety of notarial work. Some of my clients spend a year or more with me when I am engaged to administer the estate of a deceased person by an executor; other clients need only a few minutes of my time when I am carrying out notarial work on their behalf. I wanted to make legal services accessible and to offer fixed prices whenever possible. I never intended to grow beyond working solo and I planned to reserve some capacity to offer locum services to other firms. This has turned out to be a robust business model for me, backed up by the excellent support provided by my virtual office.

So, what have been the key benefits of using the services of Hudson House?

Hudson House - Edinburgh Virtual Office

Professional image

Hudson House has provided a smart city centre business address, enabling me to work flexibly from anywhere, increasing efficiency and productivity but ensuring that my office is easily accessible by clients

Cost savings

There was no need for an expensive long term traditional office lease, thus reducing overhead costs and enabling me to offer competitive pricing to clients

Administrative support

Services provided have included secure post handling, telephone answering and reception. Precious documents can be safely deposited by clients, stored and uplifted, telephone messages have been passed on promptly and seamlessly and the reception staff have always been courteous, efficient and responsive. This has enabled me to focus on my clients and my work, without having to concern myself with administrative matters

Convenience

A meeting room can be reserved for client consultations, providing a professional setting when required

Flexibility

I once had a last minute need for the meeting room but it was already reserved. The staff quickly arranged an alternative space for me to use with everything I needed, demonstrating their flexibility and can-do approach

As for the future I look forward to continuing the relationship over the course of the next seven years and beyond.
